acrylic on canvas, 8x10.
This was commissioned by someone awesome who told me to just paint anything.

This was bound to happen...

In other news, I'm having a small sale at my Etsy shop. A couple of prints are on clearance, as well as some Halloween drawings. Some paintings have been reduced pretty low, too. So check that out!

october!

I'm not dead! Here's a sketch!
fall sketch
Haven't had as much time as I would like for Halloween artworks, what with school and its sinister time-sucking properties, but I am cooking up some small special things I hope to finish soooooon.

this is henry & that is good music.

Still working on my army of pumpkin people. A few more can be found in this flickr set, and a couple are up for sale in ye olde etsy shoppe.

I'm woefully behind on scanning my daily drawings. It's been over a hundred days since I started this project, and so far I've only missed one. So I've failed, really, but that's no reason to stop. The day I missed I was really into the paintings I was working on, and it just slipped my mind. The realization actually woke me up the next morning. It was very theatric.

Anyway.

I love a lot of old music. When drawing and painting, I often listen to pop standards, doo-wop, jazz--all that good stuff. Go to Pandora, click on create a new station, type in The Platters and you will get a constant stream of perfection.

a drawing + week in review.

mona

chalk, tea, pens & ink on watercolor paper. 9x12.

This week has been:
-parking nightmares
-lots of treking around campus in inappropriate footwear, and bearing the consequence of blistered and bloody feet
-David Foster Wallace
-being offered, unsolicited, frat boy tales of drunken idiocy while trying to concentrate on beginner's Spanish
-eyes glazing over in physics class
-thin walls and a neighbor who plays acoustic guitar and listens to the news very loudly during the morning
-painting on my Friday off

Now enjoying this long weekend and lovely cool weather with walks in the park and family and drawing up some things for Halloween. It's been nice.
