wormface, moving, drawgasmic + fine art prints.

pens, ink, chalk + tea on watercolor paper

I found an apartment. The current tenant's in the process of moving out, so I have to wait to move in. Hopefully I'll get the call that it's all mine by this weekend, 'cause I'm antsy and want to get this over with. Life right now has been packing, cleaning, yard sales, packing, going through things in storage, freaking out, packing, a thousand cups of strong black tea, True Blood and Lost marathons while drawing until my fingers fall off and brief, blissful moments of unconsciousness punctuated by crazy dreams involving pie and the Civil War. And did I mention packing? It is amazing how you never realize just how much stuff you own until you have to put it in boxes, and I even left a lot of my things packed up from the last time I moved. The bulk of it is books. I have so so many books, and yet, not enough...

In other news, the Drawgasmic show is coming up in a couple of days. If you're in the St. Louis area, do check it out. I won't be going, of course, but I wish I could. If you can't make it either and by any chance want to purchase my drawing, you'll be able to do so online.

Also, I now have some canvas fine art prints available from the Lowbrow Art Company. Go check them out here. And while you're there, check out all the other artists. Lots of good stuff there.

daily drawing project + drawgasmic

I'm attempting to do a drawing a day for a year. I'm a week in. Plus a day. But I haven't finished today's yet...eheh...Here's the rest of the first week:I might start posting these on a more daily basis if I can ever get shit together enough to do so. I decided to force myself to draw something that isn't a girl at least once every week so this wouldn't turn into 365 creepy spidery ladies. So yeah, there's a guy up there.

In other news, my work's up on the Drawgasmic website now. Have a looksy. And check out the other artists. There's some good stuff there.

april showers.

I'm not dead! Just busy! Some things:

1. A painting I've been working on for a lovely lady who won a contest I held over at devART.

2. I will be participating in the Drawgasmic art show in July. I'm going to get my piece for it finished up this week so a look at that will be coming up soon.
3. I was featured in a Keep It Weird article at Etsy earlier this month, and I've had a steady flow of activity ever since so that's been nice. I started this experiment unsure about my expectations, but I'm thrilled with the results thus far. Though, I keep wanting to spend all the money I make on steampunk/horror themed bath and beauty products, soooo not sure that's the best side effect.

4. I spruced up my website a little. No more template layout, but nothing fancy. There's only so much I can do with a wysiwyg editor before I start bashing my head through the screen. Getting a real website is definitely on the agenda, as is an overhaul of this here blog.

5. I'm going back to school in the fall, meaning I'm going to try to get as much done as possible this summer before both my time and soul are sucked away by the cruel institution of higher education (I signed up for a physics class next semester! What the hell was I thinking? About Prince of Darkness, probably.)
